The rooms are spacious, with nice bathrooms, and great grounds, including a beautiful little plunge pool. We were resting after 30 hours of travel, and Karibu entebbe was perfect. We got a massage, ate a few excellent meals, and walked into town. I highly recommend walking to the Botanical Gardens, which are on the shore of Lake Victoria. They are beautiful, filled with locals, and several species of monkeys!
On the way home, we had an 11:30 PM flight out to Brussels, so we got a day room here as well.
I highly recommend this place to start and end your trip.

The ambiance is like a cocoon – restful, rejuvenating and when you are ready to emerge, you are reborn and refreshed.

It has beautiful mature gardens, a very picturesque small swimming pool and rooms offered either within the main house or in a small adjoining building with a glorious veranda area perfect for sitting and reading. There is 24 hour security and it feels very safe.
We were in the separate building which has lovely king size beds, mosquito nets and a ‘natural stone’ decor in the bathroom. Everything was super clean and beautifully presented.
You can order meals and have breakfast here. We only had breakfast as we arrived quite late in the evening having already eaten and they give us a large choice of beautifully cooked and presented hot and cold items.
They can arrange airport transfers for you and Patrick and Chris are very professional – always early and very helpful and informative.
Whilst Karibu is a gorgeous intimate setting, the real jewel in the crownu is the team. Between my two trips, I met Stella, Maggie, Rose, Dora and Florence (I hope I have not missed anybody out!). These ladies were universally amazing – kind, helpful, informative and unobtrusive. (They were also very strong as they helped me carry my extremely heavy bags when I was leaving!😂)
More than anything else it was the unfailing smiles, enthusiasm and decency of the Karibu ‘dream team’ that made this into a five star experience and makes me proud to be Ugandan. Keep up the good work!

Whether you arrive at midnight, in the early afternoon, or at four in the morning, and we did all of these, the staff is there to help you, your room is ready, the beds are comfortable, and the shower is hot. In addition, the food is great, and there is a pretty little pool surrounded by gardens. It’s just a short hop to the airport so if you have one of those late night flights like we had, it’s perfect. Plus, they will do pick up and drop off from the airport. While you’re there, don’t miss getting a lovely massage from Jennifer. Thanks to everyone at Karibu Entebbe for making our stays Wonderful!
Awesome first and last night in Uganda – Upon arrival we stayed at Karibu Guest House for one night before we started our safari tour. So we were very happy to stay the for our last night before our flight to Zanzibar. We had another room which was even nicer while the rest of the experience equalled our first visit!
We would stay there again any time!
Wonderful Experience! – We stayed at Karibu for a couple nights upon arrival into Uganda and they were wonderful and welcoming from the start. The property is beautiful and you can do so… read more much bird watching from your room, we were occupied even when we were still tired from our journey. The accommodations were great; the shower always had hot water, the beds were comfortable (and had a fan that kept things nice and cool!), and everything was tidy and clean. We loved all of our meals while on property as well — shout out to the Rhino burger! We met with Kevin the day of our arrival and he helped us plan some activities whilst in Entebbe and at our next destination in Uganda. We went out with Rogers in search of the shoebill stork and found two! It was a great experience all around. We would love to return someday.
